The exhibition “Cardinal Kominek: Unknown Father of Europe”

The exhibition entitled Forgiveness and Reconciliation: Cardinal Bolesław Kominek – an unrecognized father of Europe presents the profile of Bolesław Kominek, an archbishop of Wrocław and the author of the Letter sent in 1965 by Polish bishops to their German counterparts, containing the famous sentence: “We forgive and we ask for forgiveness”. This multimedia exhibition [prepared by TEMPORA, which is – in some part – also addressed to children, is based on three acts:

  • In the shadow of Hitler: 1939–1945
  • In the shadow of Stalin: 1945–1956
  • Path to reconciliation: 1956–1974
